QPR Suicide Prevention
According to the QPR Institute's website, "The QPR mission is to reduce suicidal behaviors and save lives by providing innovative, practical and proven suicide prevention training." QPR is a training that teaches anyone how to respond when someone they care about is in crisis and experiencing suicidal ideation. MCPP currently has four staff members certified to facilitate QPR trainings. For more detailed information about QPR, please visit

Working Minds
This training was created to address the lack of suicide prevention education for people of "working age". The goal of these trainings are to help everyone in the workplace (administrators and employees, alike) to better be able to identify signs of suicide ideation, and how to create a workplace culture that is conducive to having open dialogues and preventing suicide.

Strengthening Families
Strengthening Families is a multi-session family program designed to reduce youth substance abuse and improve family cohesiveness.  Parent(s) and child attend separate sessions for the first hour and are reunited during the second hour to develop the skills introduced in the breakout sessions. HIPS (Hidden in Plain Sight)
Hidden in Plain Sight is an interactive parent education program that walks parents through a virtual bedroom showing hidden and not so hidden signs of risky behavior and mental illness.  After the room tour, parents will be educated on the items found in the room and pertinent problems in the local community as well as given resources on how to talk with their children about these issues and contacts for help if needed.

PAX Tools
PAX Tools is a collection of evidence-based, trauma-informed strategies to improve cooperation and self-regulation with youth. PAX Tools helps to create strategies that support parents, youth workers, and other caring adults to create a nurturing environment to helps kids thrive!
